17th Century Farmhouse
This English Heritage listed building, Formerly a laundry cottage, was set in 14 acres with formal gardens and topiary. We added a 3500 square foot wing of the house which included an attached garage, guest house, and a new kitchen family room.
Listed buildings require many materials to be salvaged and reused, the clay roof tiles for the new roof area were salvaged from a local salvage yard. The windows were the old original ‘float glass’ that have an antique wavy appearance. We worked with artisans to build high r value thermal double glazed windows and paid particular attention to mix the new build with the old.
